BEFORE: PREPARATION

Step 1: Moodboard

Before any collection, you need inspiration. The idea of the jewelry but also of the theme, the atmosphere, the overall mood.

This summer it will be Carmen. Warmth, travel, vacations.

Carmen having 4 acts we will make 4 atmospheres! Like a vacation day, the arrival in the morning in the city, the discovery and first walks, the visits of the cult places then the end of the day with the sunset.

It's done! Time for the mood boards that will inspire us for outfits, poses and locations.

example: moodboard for part 4 that we did in the city

Mood validated, we are already in it!

The place? Accessible (with covid it was difficult!) with good weather, not far from where we are. Hours of google views and instagram: Sitges!
A small seaside town near Barcelona, perfect for the theme! With whom? What outfits? In what order?

For the model and the makeup artist/hairdresser?

A natural atmosphere, a sunny girl.

Ultra light make-up because we don't wear make-up at the beach and want to apply what we do too!

A favorite is Sandra Hortelano, made up by Mabel Boon.

A contact, a feeling that passes directly, same age and vision of things, it's a match!

Ultra important, styling!

What outfit with what jewelry?

Not too sexy, something that we could also wear, that will highlight the jewelry, that will go with the place we want...

This is the best part of the shoot, shopping!

Once we have found everything, we put everything on a presentation so that we can send it to the model and have everything on the big day.

DURING: LET'S GO!

Open the suitcase, we are at the hotel!

We take our brief again, install outfit by outfit with matching jewelry, time for hair/makeup then shooting!

Between each look we go back to the hotel for outfit changes, jewelry, makeup. An intense pace and 3200 photos taken that day for 300 kept!

Some will be used in stories, others on the site or even in newsletters, a huge but necessary content!

After the shooting, very little retouching, only light/grain, we want to keep Sandra's natural (sublime) look!

For this shooting, our first videos! On the iPhone, but better than nothing! And we are rather proud of the results...

Philip on video and myself on photo, a first for both of us!

Once the shooting is finished, you have to sort the photos, put the same color filter, rename them and cut them so that they are less heavy on the site, make the product sheets, the montages, the communication... A huge amount of work for such a small team but what satisfaction to master all of this and to see your opinions on each campaign!

I hope you enjoyed this behind-the-scenes immersion!
